This was my first session after my little studio revamp and I’m obsessed with the results and how the space is looking 🙌🏻

June is almost here and I have a few spots left for newborn sessions before I go on maternity leave 👶🏻 It’s all happening so fast!

Maternity sessions at the beach will forever hold my heart 🤍✨

But when you leave in Melbourne you have to go with the seasons! So as the temperature drops and the rainy winter starts, I’m happy to welcome mums to be into my cozy studio space too, whether it’s for a lifestyle session or for an editorial experience.

We had Davida @shrinkingvioletmakeup on hair and makeup and our model Angie who is so beautiful inside and out.

✨ So…how does it all work? ✨

Booking a photoshoot may seem overwhelming so here is a little step by step for you

🌸 Step 1: send me a message and let me know what kind of session you are dreaming of 🤍 is it a maternity season? A cake smash for your little one? Some family portraits to update the photos on your walls? We’ll have a chat, I’ll answer any questions and guide you towards the right package for you

🌸 Step 2: once you are happy, a small deposit will lock in your date. I’ll send over a contract as well as a prep guide that will answer all those questions you have (and even some you didn’t know you had!). My goal is for you to feel confident and ready on the day. I’ll send you my client closet details in case you want to wear one of my pieces too.

🌸 Step 3: it’s photoshoot day! All you have to do is show up, I will take it from there and get you and your family to relax and enjoy this time together. I will guide you every step of the way so you don’t have to worry about posing, and I will play games to engage the kids if they are not too keen (which is totally normal)

🌸 Step 4: 2 to 3 weeks after your session you will receive your watermarked online gallery, from which you can choose your photos. At this point you can decide if you want to purchase extra photos. After you select your favourites, you will receive your final gallery with your edited HQ files.

🌸 Step 5: don’t let your photos be just more files taking up space on your phone! While browsing your online gallery, you will have the option to purchase prints, albums and wall art. I always recommend printing your photos in a professional lab since they provide the best quality.

This session was done entirely with the natural light coming through my studio windows: no flash, no complicated setups, just beautiful soft light 🤍

And that beaded dress? One of my favourite pieces from my client closet (because the last thing you should be stressing about before your session is what to wear!)

Before I pick up my camera, I plan every single session, and this is the reason every shot feels intentional rather than improvised.

For every shoot I go deep on Pinterest and Instagram, building a vision for the mood, lighting, colours and poses before we even begin. And if my clients send me their own inspo photos beforehand? Even better! It helps me understand exactly what they’re dreaming of and makes it so much easier to bring that vision to life.
When I walk in prepared, my clients feel it. They feel directed, comfortable and taken care of, even if they have no idea all this happened behind the scenes.

This is what separates a session that feels chaotic from one that feels effortless.
